    River Riders

    Event sold out!  If you're still interested check out the RPCV/W Facebook group to see if anyone has an extra ticket to sell.

    Otherwise get your shades, SPF 30, and beverage of choice ready for a float down the Shenandoah! 


    Here's the run of day:

    10:00am -10:30am: Meet, load and board charter bus (location=TBD, will send update two weeks prior to event)
    10:30am -12:00pm: Travel to Harpers Ferry
    12:00pm - 1:00pm: Check in, sun screen, watch safety video, pack coolers, get to river on Rriver Rider buses
    1:00pm - 4:00pm: Float the river, work on our tans, drink lots of beer and bagged wine
    4:00pm - 5:00pm: Travel back from river on River Rider bus, empty/ consolidate coolers, BATHROOM BREAK, board charter bus
    5:00pm - 6:30pm: Get back to DC/ figure out a game plan for dinner
    6:30pm - 6:45pm: Unload bus execute dinner game plan! 

    ***Please make sure to fill out the electronic waiver! It'll be available when you pay on the RPCV/W site. 

    Your RSPV will NOT be valid until you pay on the RPCV/W site.***

  • Come spend a summer afternoon with fellow RPCVs and vote for next year's Board of Directors. We're returning to the site of our 2013 Summer BBQ - The National Zoo!

    The Picnic Pavilion is point #11 on the Zoo Map near parking lot D. Your ticket gets you 2 hours of food and beer/wine. Kids under 3 eat free! Menu to follow shortly, email us if you'd like to request a vegetarian option or special accommodation. 

    This event will also serve as our Annual Meeting to elect our next Board of Directors. Any member may self nominate, just send a bio to info@rpcvw.org before July 22. More information and position descriptions here.

    Peace Corps Beyond — September 21-25, 2016

    Peace Corps Connect is the Peace Corps community’s annual conference hosted by the National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) and its affiliate groups to connect, engage and inspire our community.

    International Day of Peace Film Screening 

    The Peace Corps community plays a leading role in fostering global peace. Attend this film screening on the Eritrean refugee crisis, followed by a discussion with the America Team for Displaced Eritreans to learn more about the issues and how you can get involved.

    Stories of Peace – A Workshop Series 

    RPCVs have some of the most compelling and inspiring stories. Sign up for this series of workshops to learn how to find, craft and share your story. You will participate in a workshop on Spoken Word Storytelling, a workshop led by John Coyne of Peace Corps Writers and a panel discussion from published RPCV authors.

    Capitol Hill Advocacy Day

    Join hundreds of fellow RPCVs and Peace Corps supporters on Capitol Hill to advocate for a bigger, better Peace Corps. Meet with your Members of Congress and share why Peace Corps matters.

A Towering Task is a documentary in development, envisioning a New Era of Possibility for the Peace Corps by igniting engagement of past, present and future stakeholders and advocates for peace.
