Cara George is currently Community Service Director for RPCV/W. She served in Huehuetenango, Guatemala from 2009-2011 as a Municipal Development Volunteer, assigned to the Women, Youth, and Children's Office of a local municipal government, where she worked to increase the presence and organization of civil society, community, and women's groups. Additionally, she taught literacy, organized a camp for teen girls, created a weekly radio program, and implemented a water project. She received her BA and MA in International Affairs at American University's School of International Service. Cara currently works in project management for Chemonics International's South America region. In her position as Community Service Director, Cara's goal is to encourage RPCVs to continue serving their community through fun and diverse volunteer opportunities in and around the DC area. In her free time, she loves to run, travel, and eat ice cream.
