Join the RPCV/W Board of Directors

RPCV/W was formally incorporated as an independent 501(c)(3) organization in 1991. As such, it is governed by a corporate board who are elected from its membership and charged with running the organization. There are currently 11 Board Members, and you could be one.

Serving in a leadership role for a vibrant, growing organization is a tremendous experience. Your vote, the strength of your ideas, and your talents for collaboration will determine the future of RPCV/W.

This event is intended for any member of our group who wants to get more involved in the management side of things. Opportunities abound for informal leadership positions as well. You don't need to be elected to lead an activity or start a project.

Capital Pride is an annual event celebrating the spirit and strength in the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) communities in Washington, DC.

RPCVs needed to carry host country flags at the 38th annual Capitol Pride Parade

Join us in marching in the parade and carrying your host country's flag. There's only one for each country, so first come, first served.

If you have a particular flag you would like to carry, please email Sarah Blazucki with your name, phone and preferred country. There are 139 country flags (give or take), so it may be good to have a second choice. Please RSVP to sblazucki@peacecorps.gov by Monday, June 3 if you’d like to participate.

Once again we'll be hosting a booth at the Pride Festival. If you would like to staff the booth, please contact Kelly McCormack at kmccormack@peacecorps.gov

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, and prepare to be in the sun for an extended period. Bringing water is highly recommended.

RPCV/W's Annual Summer BBQ and Board Elections at the National Zoo!

Come spend a summer afternoon with fellow RPCVs and vote for next year's Board of Directors. Our normal venue is undergoing renovation, so this year we'll gather at the National Zoo's Gorilla Grove!

Menu: Children 3 and under eat free.

All-beef Hamburgers
Veggie Burgers
BBQ Chicken
Assorted sides
Watermelon for dessert.

Beverages: Beer, white wine, pink lemonade and iced tea.

Food will be served for 2 hours, elections to follow. Online voting will open on June 8. Members may vote remotely or meet the candidates and vote at the BBQ.
