About us

(RPCV/W) is a Washington-based non-profit organization committed to the Peace Corps’ Third Goal: bringing the Peace Corps experience back to our community. It was founded in 1979 and incorporated in 1990 in the District of Columbia. 

Representing more than 2,500 returned Peace Corps Volunteers, Peace Corps staff, Peace Corps families and supporters in the greater Washington D.C. area, RPCV/W is one of the largest organizations of its kind in the world. RPCV/W is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and governed by an elected board of directors.    


To foster a community of RPCVs and friends in the Washington, D.C. area through social events, service projects and professional development programs that embody the spirit of the Peace Corps and to continue our service back home.


RPCV/W's bylaws outline the rules which are used to govern the internal affairs of the organization. They can be found here along with our records.


RPCV/W is not the Peace Corps, nor do we donate to overseas Peace Corps programs. For information about Peace Corps, please visit www.peacecorps.gov.

Event Calendar Donate to RPCV/W

Every two years, we officially sponsor a grassroots nonprofit that shares our goals and values. We call this program our Partnership for Peace. Our current Partner is Atlas Corps.


Our weekly newsletter is filled with upcoming events, special notices, community news, and other items of interest.

Only RPCV/W Members can submit items for publication, provided it is not commercial or political in nature. Send an email to Secretary@rpcvw.org with a short blurb, 50 words or less, a point of contact, and an image (optional). Deadline is 5PM Tuesday.
