2^nd Annual RPCV/w summer camping trip 

July 23 - 24, 2011 (rain or shine)

Join RPCV/W this July for a camping trip to George Washington National Forest in Virginia. We’ll be staying at the same site as last year (Elizabeth Furnace Group Camp - Site B). This is a family-friendly event.

Dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday morning will be provided. However, we will ask that you bring your own snacks, drinks (other than water) and a side dish.

RSVP:  The site only holds up to 25 people, so please sign-up quickly!

Logistics (more information will be sent out to participants. This is only to give you an idea of what you are getting into if you sign up):

• The site has no running water. This means RPCV/w will provide drinking water and hand sanitizer. It also means that there are no showers, and no flush toilets (there are vault toilets).

• Bring your own tents, sleeping bags, and a camp chair

• There is no trash service. We will need to bag our trash and packing it out when we leave.

Activities:

• There is a trailhead across the road from the campsite which leads to signal knob.

• A stream runs behind the campsite. Fishing is permitted with a license.

• Group site B is surrounded by woods, so there is not a large amount of space for games such as softball, but the group site A nearby has open fields that we may be able to use.
