  • Come spend a summer afternoon with fellow RPCVs and vote for next year's Board of Directors. We're returning to the site of our 2013 Summer BBQ - The National Zoo!

    The covered Picnic Pavilion is point #11 on the Zoo Map near parking lot D. Your ticket gets you 2 hours of food and beer/wine. Kids under 3 eat free! Email us if you'd like to request a vegetarian option or special accommodation. 

    This event will also serve as our Annual Meeting to elect our next Board of Directors. More information and position descriptions here. Online voting is now open for the 2016-17 Board Election. Click here to vote.

    Catering by Red, Hot & Blue

    BBQ: BEEF BRISKET & PULLED PORK: Slices of tender, hand-trimmed, hickory-smoked, seasoned beef brisket and our Mojo Mild BBQ Sauce.

    Veggie Option: VEGETABLE WRAPS: Flour tortillas filled with lettuce, vegetarian beans, cheddar cheese, red & green peppers and onions. Served in halfs with garlic ranch dressing.

    Sides: POTATO SALAD, MACARONI AND CHEESE & BBQ BEANS: Red Bliss Potatoes, onion and eggs tossed with mayo and spices. Old fashioned baked beans with onions and green peppers simmered in homemade sauce.

    Dessert: Homemade Cupcakes and Banana Pudding from Smoke and Barrel

    Beverages: Soft Drinks, Water, Bud-light, Newcastle and assorted white wines

  • RPCV/W joins Columbia Heights-based Words Beats & Life (WBL) for their monthly Our Block community clean-up. We'll help with trash removal and spray painting, among other tasks.

    Dress comfortably, bring lots of water, get ready to transform a neighborhood through service!

    Peace Corps Beyond — September 21-25, 2016

    Peace Corps Connect is the Peace Corps community’s annual conference hosted by the National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) and its affiliate groups to connect, engage and inspire our community.

    At this year’s conference – Peace Corps Beyond – we look forward to celebrating 55 years of Peace Corps and the limitless potential of our community to continue to create change.The conference will highlight work being done by our community members and partner organizations and explore how, through increased collaboration, we can continue to champion Peace Corps ideals.

    International Day of Peace Film Screening 

    The Peace Corps community plays a leading role in fostering global peace. Attend this film screening on the Eritrean refugee crisis, followed by a discussion with the America Team for Displaced Eritreans to learn more about the issues and how you can get involved.

    Stories of Peace – A Workshop Series 

    RPCVs have some of the most compelling and inspiring stories. Sign up for this series of workshops to learn how to find, craft and share your story. You will participate in a workshop on Spoken Word Storytelling, a workshop led by John Coyne of Peace Corps Writers and a panel discussion from published RPCV authors.
