The Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Washington DC (RPCV/w) issued this request for submissions for the 2010 Partnership for Peace Program. RPCV/w will select an individual organization to be the focus of our fundraising, community service, and programming efforts for the 2010 calendar year. This program is a new initiative that furthers our commitment to the Peace Corps and to serving the needs of our local community.
The Selected Organization for 2010
RPCVw is pleased to announce the results of the Partnership for Peace Program for 2010. After narrowing down 16 applicants, the Partnership for Peace Committee selected three finalists to publicly propose a partnership with RPCVw at the November 10th reception at the Stuart Mott House.
After voting at the reception and online by RPCVw members, the selected organization has been selected for a partnership to raise general public awareness, fund raise and volunteer.
We would like to thank all organizations for applying and we look forward to creating a mutually beneficial partnership with LAYC throughout the 2010 year.
Selected Finalists for 2010
This is the first year of this program and we are thrilled to have received 15 amazing submissions. The selection team was inspired by each of the applicants. While all the organizations were worthy of support, we chose the ones that we felt best represented Peace Corps 3rd goal initiatives and would best be able to use the resources of our diverse membership.
We have selected the following organization to present their proposals to our membership at the Partnership for Peace Reception:
Academy of Hope
Latin American Youth Center
One World Education
The proposals of these organizations are listed below and can be downloaded. Please read through the proposals and attend the RPCVw membership meeting to vote for the Partnerships for Peace organization for 2010 on November 10th, 2009
Thanks to the incredible organizations that applied for the 2010 Partnership for Peace Program. We encourage everyone to visit their websites for more information about individually donating or volunteering.
