Peter Redmond

Peter Redmond has nearly 20 years serving Peace Corps as Volunteer, Country Director and member of headquarters senior staff. As a Volunteer in Honduras he worked to promote the nascent national park system, taught environmental education and led pre-service training workshops at La Tigra National Park. Peter returned from service and joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for 10 years in various program management and senior management positions. While at EPA, Peter earned his Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School and spent a year promoting democratic transitions in Nicaragua and Bangladesh with the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs. He returned to Peace Corps in 2002 to lead programming and training in Panama before his appointment as Peace Corps Panama Country Director in 2005. At Peace Corps headquarters from 2009-2019, Peter selected and trained new Country Directors, stood up the Office of Global Operations as its first Deputy Associate Director, and played a key role in policy development and leading change as a Senior Advisor from 2011-19. Peter currently directs the Center of Excellence in Foreign Affairs Resilience at the Department of State's Foreign Service Institute (FSI).
