Timothy Quick
I was a well digger in Upper Volta, now Burkina Faso, and worked on a CDC-led survey that was the forerunner of the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) now routinely conducted in most countries. I went back to grad school in Animal Science/Nutrition (MS The Ohio State University; PhD UMassachusetts) and did postdocs at Vanderbilt and Boston University Medical Schools, conducting research on vitamin A. I have been a nutrition advisor at USAID since 1994, recently retired, but still doing some consulting with USAID.
