This event on Saturday, June 21 is a collaboration between RPCV/W and LGBTQI+RPCV, celebrating Pride Month with community, history, and fun!
Meet at Freedom Plaza (between the White House & Capitol) at 3:00 PM to explore the Rainbow History Project’s free outdoor exhibit, “Pickets, Protests, and Parades: The History of Gay Pride in Washington”. Learn how early 1960s pickets and protests led to today’s vibrant Pride celebrations in D.C.
At 3:40 PM, we’ll walk as a group from the exhibit to Bar Americano (Jefferson Drive SW, located on the National Mall, between the National Air and Space Museum & the National Gallery of Art).
From 4:00–6:00 PM, join us at Bar Americano – whether you came on the walk or are meeting us directly at the bar.
Family‑friendly • Free to attend!
