Teaching “Capacity building” is a familiar activity to returned Peace Corps volunteers and their counterparts, but we could all benefit from a little organizational coaching.

The RPCV/W Board of Directors was recently approached by Alana DeJoseph, who is working on a documentary about the Peace Corps. She asked if RPCV/W would support her project in three ways:

“Would you be willing to speak on a panel about your service in Ukraine?”

Tuesday's Town Hall was a great success! Many thanks to the Office of the Third Goal for the strong organization, Peace Corps HQ's tech team for streaming the meeting around the world, and, of course, Carrie, for taking part in the discussion. 

I moved to Colombia Heights after living in Latin America for the past 4 years. Many who live in the DC area know it’s difficult to get that feeling of community. I was looking for a solution and delivering food to elderly in need with We Are Family seemed like a perfect way to meet my neighbors. 

Hi RPCV/W, Just wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you for supporting Village X's successful Indiegogo campaign. It was a slog; at times I wanted to cry ... no, seriously, I wanted to weep like a child, but, as I'm sure you know by now (sorry for not getting to this sooner), we raised 105% of our goal. 

On July 15, the Peace Corps unveiled several major changes to their online application and selection process. According to Peace Corps, the new system will be "simpler, faster and more personalized than ever before." 

When my father was 12 his father died. At his funeral he met a man named Kevin O’Donnell and his wife Peg O’Donnell, who were close friends of the family. My dad told me that he had an immediate connection to this man and wished he could be his father. 

We marched in the DC Pride Parade over the weekend and it was glorious.
