We elect our leaders each year from among our active membership. Board members serve one year, unpaid terms. They meet monthly and frequently collaborate over email and social media. Each board member proposes a budget and votes on RPCV/W business. Serving on the board is a rewarding experience where you can hone your professional skills. Here is everything you need to know about the 2015 Board Election.

Nominations
Any active (login and make sure your dues are up to date) member of RPCV/W may self nominate. Just email RPCV/W President Mariko Schmitz at [email protected] with a statement of interest: "I want to run for _____" and include a brief bio about who you are and why you are ready to lead. See the bios of our current board members for examples.
Positions
This document lists each position and its duties. Any active member, regardless of Peace Corps service, may self-nominate. Candidates may run for multiple positions. You are also welcome to ask a board member for advice on which position may be best for you.
Campaigning
Candidates are welcome to contact their friends and use our private Facebook group, or the comments section of this blog post, to introduce themselves and ask for support. Please limit it to a single introductory post.
Voting
Voting is conducted online and in person. Online voting will begin on Wednesday, June 15. The ballot will be accessible in the Members Only section of our website. In addition to the board, members will also choose our next Partner in Peace from among the 3 finalists chosen by the selection committee.
Summer BBQ
The Summer BBQ on June 27 is our final event before the elections. Traditionally, candidates attend this event and members have a chance to meet them in person before they vote. If you attend the BBQ, you may vote at the event. Those results will be tallied along with the online votes and the next board will be announced. We'll also have a lot of fun, so click here to RSVP!
