A former Wall Street Journal Correspondent for over 30 years and a Pulitzer Prize finalist in International Reporting, Mr. Thurow is currently a senior fellow with the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. He will share insights about entering a career in international development and policy. The event will be a career spotlight, covering his rich history working in the field of journalism and more recently within the Chicago Council.
Mr. Thurow will also be able to talk about professional experiences tied to his recent trip to India and the work he did as the author of the The First 1,000 days, a book focused on the importance of proper nutrition in the first 1000 days of life. This book has been used in some Peace Corps countries as a resource for health volunteers. In the first part of the workshop, Mr. Thurow will expand on those topics, guided by a set of moderated questions. The second part will provide attendees with an opportunity to ask questions.
