Matthews Arm Campground is the closest campground in Shenandoah National Park to Washington DC and offers amenities like flush toilets, drinking water and dump stations, creating a comfortable camping experience.  It is the last weekend the campground is open for the fall.

I've reserved group campsite D165, which has space for up to 25 people and five vehicles. Participants can come out Friday evening or arrive Saturday.

Saturday we can take a hike from the park to Overall Run Falls, the tallest waterfall in the park. For dinner, please bring a dish from your country of service for a potluck Saturday night. If there are other activities you would like to do, there is plenty of space in the campground and park.

Family members are welcome.  If we exceed the space limit of 25 participants at the group site, there are other campsites that do not require reservations.
