Bringing the experience home

RPCV/W Happy Hour and Pakistan Flood Relief Fundraiser

  • Thursday, November 18, 2010
  • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Recessions, 1823 L Street NW, Washington DC

Returned Peace Corps Volunteers throughout Washington know that Recessions has been good to us.  What you may not know is that the owner hails from Pakistan, which was devastated by floods this summer.  RPCV/W, Friends of Pakistan USA, and Recessions are teaming up to help, by dedicating this month’s 50th Anniversary social function to Pakistani flood relief.  Recessions will donate 10% of the evening’s proceeds to two NGOs with which Friends of Pakistan USA have worked closely, the American Refugee Committee and The Citizens Foundation.  RPCV/W will also be “passing the hat” as we did for Haiti earthquake relief earlier this year.  A member of Friends of Pakistan USA, who is also a representative from the original Peace Corps Pakistan, Group 1, will be available to answer questions about Peace Corps' work in Pakistan and FOP's current projects there.  Support our friends and the relief effort while taking advantage of some amazing happy hour deals, and consider putting the cash you saved on that drink in the hat.  Join us at Recessions (nearest Metro: Farragut North or Farragut West) on Thursday, November 18, for good times and a good cause.
