"Oh you did Peace Corps? I heard its like summer camp. It's nice that you volunteered, but what are your real skills?"

Sound familiar?  As RPCVs, we all have heard similar responses when applying for jobs. Winning over skeptical employers that our skills are useful and transferrable can often be a tough sell.

Thank goodness we have friends like Jamie Nishi, Director of Member Services at Devex, who is surprised by this.

In International Development, the Peace Corps experience is Gold. Jamie and her colleagues will join us for our next Social-Professional Development Happy Hour to help RPCVs work on talking up their PC skills.
