You're invited to the Friends of Fiji Summer Lovo
We will begin the day with the preparation of the fire pit and the food for the lovo. After the food is unearthed we will share in the traditional eats with island music and kava. Everyone is welcome.
DATE: Saturday, July 18, 2015
TIME: 3:00pm, Fiji Time
LOCATION: Potomac Overlook Regional Park and Nature Center in Virginia.

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Relocate rocks and lovo preparation
11:00 AM - 12:15 PM: Fire- Pre-heating the lovo (wood burning) and food preparation
12:15 PM - 12:30 PM: Bury the food
12:30 PM - 2:45 PM: Cook time and rest
2:45 PM - 3:00 PM: Unearth the food
3:00 PM - 3:45 PM: Prepare the food for serving
3:45 PM: Eat and enjoy!
The Potomac Park will also be hosting a band as a part of their summer concert series beginning at 7:00 PM. More details and directions can be found on their website.
It will be a great day to visit with friends and celebrate Fiji culture. Come join us!
