Informational Interviews - connect with other RPCVs!

Happy New Year!

Are you looking for a new job?

To be promoted at your current job?

Maybe looking to move into a new field? Or after this crazy election season, a new planet?

While we can't help you with interplanetary moves [maybe Elon Musk can (Elon what ? click here)], the RPCV/W mentoring program can help you improve your job hunting and career development on this planet.

One-on-one mentoring is a great way to get solid advice on navigating your career. We are still matching volunteer mentors with mentees- if you're interested in providing or receiving mentorship through the program, see the link at the end of this post to add yourself to the list!

However, if you don't have time to participate in the partnership program, or would like a less committed way to connect with other RPCVs, informational interviews are a great way to meet people for mutual support in the career development struggle-fest.

Informational interviews offer a quick way to learn about how someone else got from the point A you're at to the point B you're trying to get to, or to discover an opportunity, career path, skill set or company you didn't even know existed. Meeting for 15 or 20 minutes over coffee or through a phone call—or even connecting over email—is one of the most effective ways to gain advice and information that can significantly help your job hunt and career development.

If you're looking to connect with someone in a new field through an informational interview, send me an email! [email protected]. RPCV/W has a vast network, and I'll do my best to introduce you through email to someone with the experience you are looking for.

If you are looking for a mentor through our mentoring program, or to be a mentor, we still do that! Sign up through our google form here: https://goo.gl/forms/Nzs8R8TKZZTFBxKC2

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the program.

Thanks,

Ed
