Meet the Cultural Events Director

Ms. Lesley DeRosa grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Spanish at the University of Rhode Island in 2009. From 2009 to 2011 she worked to complete her Master’s Degree in Spanish Studies where she specialized in linguistic and cultural phenomena in the Latin American context.  She worked as a Spanish teacher for several years at the secondary and university levels before breaking into the field of technology integration. She continued to pursue teaching through her service in the Peace Corps where she was an English teacher as well as a trainer of teachers. 

 

Ms. DeRosa served in Peace Corps Cambodia from 2016 to 2018 where she worked in international development. She ran a global citizenship club in her community and participated in initiatives related to Let Girls Learn as well as the international writing competition, Write-on.  She has a background in event planning for non-profits, as she worked with the Urban Collaborative Accelerated Program in Rhode Island where she helped to make their development events a success. She also has experience with project design and management, budgets, and strategic planning. She is looking forward to contributing to the mission of RPCV/W as the Cultural Events Director.
