I run the nonprofit DC Tutoring & Mentoring Initiative/ Civic Leadership Project, which seek to both get a tutor and mentor for all DC students reading below grade level or with other academic or social-emotional needs. We support more than 50 nonprofit tutoring and mentoring organizations by recruiting and placing volunteers with them and also work to provide Civic Leadership tools and resources to help community members in the DMV and around the country tap into their deeper sense of interconnectedness and shared humanity and, at a practical level, do more to be of service to one another and their communities.
