I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 1978 to 1980.  I trained in Costa Rica during the Sandinista revolt in neighboring Nicaragua.  I completed my Peace Corps service in San Martin Jilotepeque, Guatemala.  As a Peace Corps volunteer and Extensionist, I worked in reforestation, soil conservation, fruit tree management, forestry nursery supervision, gardening and agronomy, conducting extension education in all of these fields.
