Do you ever feel like you're living in a religiously tolerant time and place, where everyone is treated equally and fairly? Where people aren't judged based on their particular faith, but on the content of their character? Where your friends and neighbors can practice their religion in a free and open manner? Neither do we.
We at Grassroots Comedy DC are sick and tired of the wave of Islamophobia that has arisen, and on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at 7:30pm at the Bier Baron Tavern in Washington, we are going to push back. It's a stand-up comedy fundraiser for the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), a group that works to improve public understanding and policies that impact American Muslims by engaging our government, media and communities.
Some of DC's best comics will perform, and there will be general fun and merriment had by all - at a time when such things are in short supply. So come on out, have a great time, and support your friends and neighbors in the name of freedom and silliness.
See you on April 6!
