Hey RPCVs, are you feeling stressed and anxious due to COVID19 constraints? Perhaps just frustrated or like you have too much pent up energy? Join Alle Kamela (RPCV Madagascar 2013-2015) for a virtual Yoga and Meditation class on Sunday, April 12th at 10 am to get out some energy and ground down. Alle (they/ them) will share their favorite practices for stress relief and calming the nervous system.


As a Health Volunteer in Peace Corps, they found their calling to serve others by helping them focus on their physical, mental, and spiritual health. Alle is excited to bring their passion for yoga to the RPCV community in these trying times. Alle, who identifies as a larger-bodied person, strives to make all of their classes safe spaces for those who don't typically feel welcome or at ease in yoga spaces. Their classes are accessible for folx in larger bodies. It is also a trauma-informed style of yoga class. Yoga, famous in the West for physical postures, is actually a complex system which is scientifically proven to help relieve anxiety and depression among many other physical and emotional conditions.


The class is pay what you can/sliding scale with a suggested donation of $10-25. You can send money directly to Alle via venmo: @allekamela or Paypal). If you can't pay, sign up and send Alle a message so they know! They're happy to help folx in the RPCV community to relax and center themselves and would love financial support if you're able, as they are a full-time yoga instructor. But if you're not, please just communicate that. 


If you've never done yoga before, don't worry, this class will be super accessible and adaptable for beginners. If you're a regular yogi, you may find class to be slower and gentler than usual and we'll definitely have a longer savasana than you're used to. We'll end with yoga nidra, or yogic sleep, which is akin to a guided meditation.
