During this year's National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) National Days of Action in Support of the Peace Corps, NPCA and RPCV/W will recognize and support the members of our community that are active and passionate about a variety of issues of global concern.
On Friday, January 18, we invite you to start your Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend attending a Global Issues Advocacy Training and Happy Hour at Tortilla Coast, 400 First Street SE, Washington, DC 20003.
To help us with our planning, we request that all attendees RSVP in advance for this event. Space is limited. Those who do not register via the survey will not be allowed to attend.
Training: Starting at 5:30 PM, you can sign up for our one-hour introductory training on being a Peace Corps community advocate on key global issues. Learn the basics of being a citizen lobbyist here in the heart of nation’s capital for a cause in which you believe. Find out more about the activities of various NPCA affiliate groups working on issues of global concern and how you can be involved.
Happy Hour: From 6:30 – 8:00 PM, workshop participants and others are invited to a happy hour. The first drink (or possibly two?) is on us! Connect and network with other RPCVs interested in public policy issues, hear a brief presentation from representatives of several cause-related affiliate groups and find out how you can get involved and make a difference.
Space is limited, so sign up today for the one-hour workshop and/or the happy hour!
