Let's volunteer with Anacostia Green Boats at Heritage + Kingman Islands in SE DC. We will pickup trash while kayaking. We volunteered here September, 2022 and the organizer said we were the hardest working group they've ever seen. Let's do better this year! We will meet here at 1045am.

How to Arrive:

1) You can park in the RFK Parking lot next to the entrance to the Kingman And Heritage Islands Park and walking into the park and over the bridge to the meeting spot.

2.) You can bike here. Kingman And Heritage Islands Park is adjacent to the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail. 

3.) The entrance is a 20 minute walk from the Stadium-Armory Metro Station.

Actual Event:

We will be broken into two groups. One group will be in kayaks picking up trash with pickers and one group will be on land picking up trash and then we will switch. There are boats for 13 people so hoping we get 26 volunteers. Afterwards we will categorize and weigh the materials we have collected. This is a really fun activity and a great organization to support. Hope to see you there.
