This is a Peace Corps Office/Spectrum sponsored event. We are sharing the event details on RPCV/W website as a save the date.
From PC Office, "Peace Corps has traditionally participated in the DC-area Capital Pride Parade. We are very excited to participate again this year with a Peace Corps contingent. Spectrum is organizing this event and we are excited to extend this invitation to our Spectrum members, Peace Corps staff, friends, and family who wish to attend the event."
TIME: Afternoon of Saturday, June 10, 2023. More details to follow.
WHERE: Logan & Dupont Circle Neighborhoods, Washington, DC (we will get more specific location, meetup, and timing instructions from the organizers and communicate that timely)
WHAT: We will be meeting as a group and then walking the 1.5-mile parade route. We will be decorating a Peace Corps vehicle as part of the 'Peace, Love, Revolution' theme. Participants will also be able to carry flags from around the world to represent the many countries where volunteers serve. We also request help from creative individuals, if able, to help us decorate our float. Please let us know if you're available to help with brainstorming and decorating.
If you want direct communication with Spectrum and want to carry a FLAG please send an email to [email protected] with the following information:
- Your name
- Number of people coming with you
- Email address (so we can share parade details with you); Note: Advisable to provide a non-PC email account for day-of communications, updates, changes.
- Flag preference (based on availability, first come first served).
- Can you help decorate the float?
