The WHO declared the Coronavirus a public health emergency, and the infections can be seen in over 20 countries. However, there's more than just the virus to worry about, as infection spread, so does misinformation, fear, and racism. Join a small group of RPCVs, as we discuss the implications of the outbreak beyond the health side effects.
Joining the conversation will be Ann Yang. Anna is an international development professional with four years of experience and currently works as an Asia Program Coordinator at Plan International USA in Washington DC. She received her M.A. in International Development at GW with a specialization in youth and civil society development. Ms.Yang served as a Youth Development Volunteer at Peace Corps Georgia. She has recently travelled through Asia for her work and have witnessed firsthand the Coronavirus phenomena and its effect on countries adjacent to China.
The event cost is $10, which goes towards food and wine costs. The event will take place at the Social Director's apartment in Van Ness located on the red line, exact location will be given once RSVP-ed. The apartment does have a small pug.
