We've decided to hold the event just west of the Japanese Lantern (https://goo.gl/maps/68yiSrGuxLGxZM5m6) which is a 16 minute walk west of the Smithsonian Metro. We will be several hundred feet west of the Lantern amongst the trees. This area is nestled amongst the trees and is close enough to the actual Festival Stage and food which is a 5-7 minute walk to the West. Join us for our annual potluck picnic during the National Cherry Blossom Festival! The National Park Service predicts peak bloom this year will be between March 22-25! . Look for a white Peace Corps flag! Please bring a snack or two to share and blankets/portable chairs if you have them. Please note transportation will be crowded because it is the height of the Cherry Blossom Festival, so plan a lot of time to get to the tidal basin! We recommend biking or walking in if possible. It will be quite busy! 

Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, RPCV/W will host three types of events: events open to all participants, events open to fully vaccinated participants, and virtual events, in addition to abiding by CDC recommendations and guidelines. If you are not vaccinated due to medical or religious reasons, we welcome you to continue to attend our virtual events. If you've recently been exposed, please follow CDC and local guidelines.
