"After the tragic death of King T’Challa (and the all-too-real passing of Chadwick Boseman, rest in peace friend), Wakanda is a nation in mourning. Bereft of its vibranium-clad king and facing external threats for the first time after the secretive nation revealed itself to the world, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o), and Okoye (Danai Gurira) must fight to protect it. It’s a new age for Wakanda, and it’s going to take a lot of (Iron) heart to keep moving forward.
BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER had some big shoes to fill following the highest grossing movie of 2018, and it does so with aplomb. It thoughtfully addresses the passing of Chadwick Boseman in a way that gives proper deference to both his memory and the character that he so iconically brought to the big screen. Writer/director Ryan Coogler (CREED) brings his signature style back to the technologically advanced African nation, reuniting old characters and introducing plenty of exciting new additions to the MCU (anyone else as stoked for Namor as we are?).
And this is a Marvel movie after all, so you can definitely expect all the cinematic action and world building you’ve come to crave. Returning MCU actors Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, and Martin Freeman all give outstanding performances, while newcomers Tenoch Huerta and Dominique Thorne make for exciting new additions. While we were all uncertain about the fate of BLACK PANTHER after the loss of Boseman, we can now confidently say the series will continue to live up to his legacy. WAKANDA FOREVER!"
