I served as a fisheries extension agent in Zaire/DRC, 1990-1991, then worked as a marketing specialist for the Foreign Agricultural Service, USDA, 1992-98, before returning to school to become a registered nurse/family nurse practitioner. I currently teach at the University of Maryland School of Nursing in Baltimore & Rockville, MD and see patients one day/week at a community clinic in Montgomery County, MD.
