Shereen works at Vital Voices Global Partnership, a nonprofit organization that invests in global women leaders who are improving the world. She manages the Fortune - U.S. Department of State Global Women’s Mentoring Partnership, a mentorship program for global women leaders, coordinating all aspects of the program, including design and implementation, logistics, budget and monitoring and evaluation. Since joining Vital Voices in 2014, Shereen has implemented five domestic programs and four international programs in Jordan, Poland, Nepal and Ghana. Shereen is also managing the WE Empower UN SDG Challenge, the first of its kind global business competition for women entrepreneurs who are advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals and inspiring entire communities to act to create the world we want by 2030. Shereen received her B.A. in Sociology and Women & Gender Studies from Franklin & Marshall College. During her time at F&M, she was on the Executive Board of the Alice Drum Women’s Center and received the Angela Jeannet Award for Excellence in Women & Gender Studies. In April 2017, Shereen was invited by the Council for Women of Franklin & Marshall College to provide the keynote address for an annual luncheon honoring graduating senior female leaders on campus. Shereen began her career in the social work and early education fields before serving in the Peace Corps in Guatemala for two years as a Youth Development Specialist. During her time in Guatemala, she taught daily life skills classes to middle school students, organized a variety of large-scale events and workshops and produced curriculum materials and monitoring and evaluation tools. After returning from the Peace Corps, Shereen worked at the Arab American Institute as a program manager for the Gabr Fellowship, leading 20 American and Egyptian professionals during a two-week cultural exchange program. She also served as the Cultural Events Director on the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Washington (RPCV/W) Board of Directors from 2016-2017, where she planned and implemented an event to commemorate volunteers who died during their service, featuring embassy representatives, Peace Corps staff, family members and the RPCV/W community.
